Day 1: Santiago – Easter Island
Welcome with fresh flower leis at Mataveri airport in Easter Island and transfer to selected hotel. In the afternoon, excursion to Tahai ceremonial complex, Rano Kau, a dormant volcano located on the southwestern tip of the island. Inside the volcano there is a lake with abundant vegetation. We continue with a visit to the village and ceremonial temple of Orongo, where annual competitions were held to elect the chief of the island, the Tangata Manu (birdman). Overnight.

Day 2: Easter Island
Breakfast in the hotel. Full day trip visiting the East coast of the island, starting towards the temple of Akahanga, the extinct volcano Rano Raraku and the quarry where the moai were made. Enjoy lunch, picnic style. Ahu Tongariki is the largest in Polynesia, with 15 restored statues. The tour continues with a visit to Te Pito Kura, where a destroyed platform contains the largest moai on Easter Island, currently lying on the ground. On one side of this ahu there is a large round stone known as the Energy Rock for its special magnetism. After visiting the last platform of Ahu Nau Nau, we finish our mystical journey in the beautiful Anakena beach. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Day 3: Easter Island – Santiago
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Mataveri airport for flight back to Santiago. End of tour.

The group will start at 10:00 AM savoring the morning, first at the Mercado Central, Santiago’s celebrated fresh fish market which was listed by the National Geographic as one of the Top 10 Food Markets in the world; and we continue then to La Vega, the popular fruit and vegetable market and the perfect place to discover new flavors.

The chef-instructor will guide you through the preparation of simple but delicious Chilean recipes and reveal some of her culinary secrets.  Her knowledge of not only the cuisine but the culture of the region adds an energetic dimension to the class.
